i have been without television.

i purchased a package with cable, phone and internet.

after the installation i had the television on for 3 minutes. in that time i heard stories of crime on the news, the shopping network's non-stop selling, and commercials pushing pharmacueticals to us directly. 

i turned it off and went back to the studio.

there is nothing in that box called television that fills my heart or soul.
if it was designed to make life easier... 
it will have a compromise or cost that will challenge its benefit.
